Not because of what it represented, but because of what it provided for the town. Not everyone agreed with the reasons behind throwing a deceased queen a birthday party, however, what everyone did like was coming together. Sure there were some people that sat idle, choosing to not be involved, but for the majority of the folks, they used this gathering to catch up with old friends, and enjoy each other's company. Things like that is what made Guinevere enjoy the annual festivities just as much as the next person.

Course, it didn't help much that she was chosen to sponsor the pie eating contest. The kitchen was bustling behind her, as she wiped off the counter behind Mr. Robertson, in preparation for the big event. She wasn't necessarily complaining, she enjoyed the business and it really helped her to stay focused and keep her mind off of other things that was happening in her personal life. Now, had she been anyone else, she probably would have felt like sponsoring an event for the festival was more of a chore, but she honestly did love it, and really loved to dote on the other residents. Not to mention, it gave her a kick to see them enjoy her foods so much. She would be lying if she didn't like what all the free publicity did for her restaurant.

The only drawback? Not being able to really participate in the festivities of her own. She was certain her parents would have loved going, and she would be willing to bet that they were planning on stealing just a couple of moments for themselves to enjoy something. Knowing them, they would probably turn up at the contest, just to check up on her. She wasn't really obligated for anything else, but baking all those pies is what kept her busy during the days leading up to it. At least she would be able to enjoy the concert and the ball the following night. Well, if someone was willing to ask her.

Getting lost in the thought of what she were to wear if that ever did happen, she shook her head clear of those thoughts the moment she heard the bell ring above the entry door. "Mr. Sinclair... You did come out, just like you said.." she looked up, and discovered it wasn't Mr. Sinclair, but.. someone else. "Oh, my apologies." she gave the man a smile, "How many?" she asked, lifting her gaze to meet his.

tag: Chris, OPEN- words: 421 notes: --- outfit:

© SHE MEANS WAR AT ATF
[/dohtml]

For being an island in the Atlantic Ocean, Stonebrook was unseasonably warm and beautiful. The storm that came through had passed, leaving sea blue skies, and melting snow temperatures. Stonebrook's snow pact was melting ever so slowly, which meant spring was right around the corner. It was Nev's favorite time of the year. Springtime meant a lot to Guinevere Gothel, it meant being able to take the stroll through the park (just like she normally does even during the winter months provided the path is plowed), stop by the flowerbeds, take in their scent and enjoy the sounds of nature that springtime brought.

It also meant that she would be able to stop by the farmers market and pick up some fresh flowers for the restaurant. She always liked picking the flowers that she enjoyed, and those of the patrons too. Ms. Carmichael liked lilies with baby's breath, and Mr. Harmen was very simple. Red Roses. He would always ask if he could take them home for the Misses, and how could Guinevere deny him? He was one of the best she had. Well they all were. But for some reason, the 78 year old man reminded her off her own grandfather. Or what she envisioned her grandfather to be like had he not died long before she moved into her grandmother's cottage.

With a spring in her step, and a renewed sense of self, she made her way through the park. Just to take a look. It was possible that she may not have been alone in her thoughts of enjoying the warm weather while they had it. When a gust of wind blew, Guinevere tightened her coat hugging it close to her and tucked her chin behind the plaid scarf. Her eyes downwards on the wet cement, she had no idea that she was walking right into the path of someone else.

"Oh I am so... sorry."she started to apologize as she lifted her head, and she wasn't expecting to see who was standing there. "You!" she gasped and took a step backwards.

Hi guys! This here is Guinevere Gothel and is the princess in the story of Rapunzel! She comes from a hardworking entrepreneurship type background, with both her parents building and owning the restaurant, Guinevere's Place. Obviously, they named their restaurant after their only child. Guinevere grew to love the place, and was really a permanent fixture. This opened the doors to have a personable relationship with the patrons, so much to the point that Guinevere would undoubtedly know everyone by name. She's rather friendly and outgoing, however, she spends most of her time at the restaurant acting as the manager and artist. She is a people pleaser and really enjoys making others happy and comfortable.

As for Friends, growing up in Stonebrook she was a rather popular child if only because of her namesake. I would imagine she would have quite the friendship circle.

Romance... I am not exactly sure what I want to do here yet as she thinks she doesn't have the time for romance. That's not say she hasn't had her share of crushes, she's just not really had any opportunity to really act it because of her job duties. The restaurant is her life.

Enemies Given the fact that she is a heroine, I'm banking on anyone who is looking to retrieve the curse as an enemy. I don't have a particular plot in mind for this area, but I am totally open for just about anything.

23 » hardworking » dreamer » heroine

Personality

If Guinevere had to describe herself in a few words, she'd probably say she was a hardworking dreamer. When her mother was diagnosed with lymphoma, Guinevere, an artistic type girl soon stepped into her mother's shoes. Taking over her responsibilities at the restaurant and maintaining her own to keep some sort of constant in her life, it led for very little social time for a young teen girl.

She took up drawing when she was a young thing, and discovered that she had a natural talent, and she loved it, believing in herself and dreaming that maybe someday it could turn into something. How great it would have been had she been able to tell people that she was a world famous artist and travel the globe.

Her mother's illness grounded her however, and rooted her into Stonebrook indefinitely. She's friendly enough, running the restaurant easily teaches the girl how to people please. While the restaurant was placed on her and a burden in the beginning, she had really grown to love the job, and the loyal customers even more. She enjoys hearing about their day, the happenings in their lives, and can sometimes offer up some advice when it is solicited. Even if she doesn't really take her own advice.

Besides drawing and the restaurant, Guinevere also loves the outdoors. She loves the smell of rain when its freshly fallen and she loves the scent of fresh flowers. More often than not, you will see her setting up a beautiful vase of fresh flowers that she got from the market in town, just to give the restaurant a more personal vibe. She treats all her customers as her friends because she knows without them, the restaurant wouldn't be what it is. And while she loves her parents dearly, she believes the restaurant is the only place where she can really be herself.

History

Guinevere's parents were born and raised right here in Stonebrook. They are as small town as a couple can get. In fact, they were high school sweethearts with very little aspirations to move out of the small town. That's not to say they didn't have goals and dreams, they just didn't want to move out of a town they loved. So they did the next best thing. Went to a local college after graduation and majored in business management and human relations. Guinevere's father opened up his own business, a restaurant in town as soon as he was told that his wife was expecting their first child together.

Naming the restaurant after his daughter, Guinevere, he and his wife built the restaurant from the ground up and to their astonishment, the restaurant flourished. They worked hard to keep it afloat, but as the only restaurant in town at the time, there wasn't a whole lot of options to be had. Guinevere's mother was lucky, being able to work in the office, and tend for her little newborn daughter while attending to the payroll and life was sweet.

As Guinevere grew, she spent more and more time at the restaurant with her parents, sitting in a cornerbooth after school. She soon discovered that she liked to people watch. Young and in love couples always suited her fancy. She could tell when it was a new couple too. They'd often come in, the woman with some sort of single flower in her hand, the man pulling out chair for his new love. It was so .. romantic in Guinevere's eyes. Soon enough, her homework wasn't homework, as it was sketches of the couple's she'd watch. Discovering she had a natural talent for art, she made it a point to pay extra close attention during art. Her teachers were always impressed with how much work she put into her projects. Taking up art led to a withdrawal in other subjects, math especially was a tough one for her to grasp. All she wanted to do was finish her studies and go right to back to her 'playground.'

Eventually, this led to Guinevere taking more artistic type classes as she entered junior high school, and when the restaurant began to display her artwork, instead of the real deal, patrons would request her services. Soon enough, her hobby turned into a job, and more
often than not, she would be spending all her free time tucked away in her favorite booth, except she didn't love anymore, and it became more of a chore for her. Having so many people depend on her though guilted her into staying put, and drawing. Her parents however enjoyed that the place was making such a profit, that they hired their daughter as their artistic director, a title she loathed. The hours sucked, the demand was to high, and Guinevere felt herself hating the one thing she truly enjoyed in life.

So you might be wondering why she kept it up right? Well because Guinevere's parents expected that their only child take over the family business when they retired. She had other dreams and aspirations, but with her parents as small town as they were, they figured that if they could make it work, then so could she. And so, all through high school Guinevere balanced work and her studies, and was not able to balance both and her grades ultimately suffered because of it. She did enough to barely graduate, but it was enough, especially for their small town high school. Once she got through graduation, college was put on hold when her mother was diagnosed with lymphoma. The doctors thought it would be easily treatable with chemo and for awhile it had worked, however, when she went in for her follow up visits a year later, the doctors discovered it had returned. As such, Guinevere's college plans were put on an indefinite hold and she tends to the restaurant in her mother's absence doing the tasks her mother did and her own. Her father soon took more and more time off and left his daughter in complete control.
